COMMUNITY PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked along Bowen Street in Banana, this unassuming community park delivers exactly what road-trippers through Queensland's interior need: functioning BBQ facilities and sensible picnic arrangements. The park's straightforward layout - barbecue hotplates clustered near weathered timber tables - reflects the no-nonsense attitude of this cattle country town. While it won't win any landscape architecture awards, Community Park serves its purpose admirably. The BBQ equipment appeared well-maintained during my visit, and the shade from established trees provides welcome relief from the relentless Queensland sun. Families passing through will appreciate the practical setup, though don't expect bells and whistles. It's the sort of dependable facility that makes small-town Australia work - nothing fancy, but it gets the job done when you need a proper feed on the road.
